Evaluation Comments for Davydov S

  1. Best teacher ever! He is crazy and very Russian and this was the liveliest, most interesting class I have ever taken at Middlebury. A class with Sergei is a true experience.
  2. This is a great class, Sergei is entertaining, at times hilarious, and really teaches the language well. This course has a steady amount of work but it's never unbearable and the material is unfolds and builds upon itself very well.
  3. Sergei is Sergei. Conversation would frequently seem random and off topic, but at the same time we had some laughs and learned extra vocabulary.
  4. Sergei may not be politically correct, but he is BY FAR the best way to start the day. He likes puffins!
  5. TAKE RUSSIAN WITH SERGEI!!! This class was so much fun! You develop a bond with your classmates that results from the shared experience of Sergei's crazy antics and the ridiculousness that is the Russian language. All of your friends will be envious when they hear how much fun your having in your Russian class (as opposed to those less exciting language classes...). Not only is this class an amazing social experience, but you really learn a lot of Russian. And Sergei doesn't make you feel stupid, even though you'll trip up on all of the vowel sounds in the beginning. It's a wonderful class and I would reccomend it even if you're not planning to go to Russia for study abroad.
  6. Sergei is hilarious! Probably my favorite professor this term. He isn't the most organized, and he and Beyer often end up covering the same topics without knowing it. Regardless, I definitely recommend taking a class with him!
  7. Great course. Fun and rigorous. At times I wish the pace had been faster, but that's not a huge issue. Sergei is crazy, grandfatherly, and awesome. Take this class early in the morning -- you'll never fall asleep.
