  1. Rog is an amazing professor! He somehow managed to get to know all 50+ of us in the class on a personal level over the course of the semester. He also is really good at focusing on just the essentials of biochemistry in this course, which is wonderful from the student's perspective. Learn even the most minor details of the journal articles he assigns for exams and you'll do great in this course!
  2. One of the best classes I've taken at Middlebury.
  3. i loved this course. it's the perfect mix of molecules/bonding/protein structures, and how they all affect you. you'll talk about hemoglobin and DNA and antibodies, and how they all work. take nothing for granted, though, and while studying make sure you keep asking yourself why you are using the techniques you choose, and why everything happens. great course.
  4. Chemistry has always been the hardest subject for me in the pre-med curriculum, but Rog made this class so interesting that it hardly seemed like chemistry at all. I found myself taking personal interest in the topics he presented, and the presentations during discussions provided an opportunity to pursue those interests. Rog is a very funny guy and will keep you entertained during lectures. Definitely take biochem with him.
  5. Much like introductory Bio. If you are looking for a class on the chemistry of living things, as opposed to a class about living things with a hint of chemistry, this is not the class for you. Rog is a really nice guy and very helpful, but the class is far too much like Bio 145
  6. Rog is simply a cool guy and this class will be unlike any chemistry course you'll take. If you need this class for your major, take it with Rog.
