Evaluation Comments for Siddiqi, Y

  1. Prof. Siddiqi is a really nice and amiable person. But if you are looking for a fantastic teacher don't choose her. She explains a few concepts and tries to create an academic atmosphere in the discussions; however, they were awkwardly silent because no one felt excited to read for or participate in the class. Prof Siddiqi was scatter-brained a lot of the times, but that personality trait sometimes provided entertainment in a very boring and dry class. Her choice of material was excellent, we read fantastic literary works. However, there was no incentive to work for the class. She grades very easily, but expect your papers to be returned a week after the next one is due. I've heard that she is good for higher level classes but maybe teaching freshmen is not her thing. She is very well-versed in her material but will not be able to communicate her ideas well. You will not come away from the class feeling enlightened, but you will have a good grade. And take the liberty of skipping it a few times.
