  2. Tough workload but the professor is great.
  3. i had a hard time with this course. they try to cover a lot of material in very little time. if you hate labs and if you can't take papers (like me), don't take this course. Prof Combelles is really friendly and she could've made the tests more difficult if she wanted to. if you don't keep up with your reading, you'll be screwed. there is a problem set every week. a lot of people taking this course don't read the book. they just learn what is covered in the lecture. you may wanna do that although i hated the fact that the course was not very parallel to the book.
  4. Take this course only if you love learning about materials. Lots of memorization required. The labs are really intense and I hated doing the lab write-ups. Quizzes every other week. Prof Combelles is ready to help you when you need it. However, you don't need to know a lot of the material that is part of the assigned reading. Prof Combelles expects you to know something if she mentions it in lecture only. Telling us what we REALLY need to read would be helpful.
