Evaluation Comments for Klyza

  1. Klyza is great. Though the material presented was pretty dry, Klyza made it interesting. The class had a very friendly vibe. The discussion was definitely awkward, but that was largely due to the fact that only a few students ever spoke. Very manageable workload, and I learned a ton that has proven useful in other ES classes.
  2. Klyza is great. Lectures are easy to follow, class overall has a good structure and a very reasonable amount of work. Discussion sections also exciting!
  3. Great material, interesting lectures, lively discussions and fair grading. Klyza is the Gifford Pinchot of ES Policy professors.
  4. A very conventionally structured class, the lectures were the best part of class. He wasn't fabulous, but he was funny at times, engaging, and clearly explained the concepts. Discussions were often painfully awkward. We often played the "guess what the teacher wants you to say game" or had mini lectures rather than having what could have been really interesting conversations. The students were very reticent and Klyza failed to build upon and carry forward student comments, often letting them just hang and go stale in the air before beginning on something unrelated. I think I'm being unduly harsh though, as I found him personally and in lectures easy to talk to (I feel like we almost had more meaningful conversations in lecture than discussion), and the material was at times very interesting to me. You need to take it anyway if you're majoring in ES, Klyza's not a bad option.
