  1. Documentary Animation belongs to the top 3 of the most valuable classes I have taken at Middlebury. If you always try to link this topic to cinema in general, the class will appear much more valuable and you will avoid getting frustrated when the material becomes slightly challenging to understand. Professor Cavanaugh seems very cold at first sight, but if you talk to her and put a lot of yourself in the class, the ice will melt. She is very smart and managed to make of this quite obscure notion of documentary animation a key concept in one's studies of cinema. Take this class seriously, develop your thoughts as you would for any other class, and you will do just fine
