Evaluation Comments for West D

  1. Very easy A.
  2. I'm not a huge fan of the sciences, but this class is not heavy on the aspects of science i'm bad at. Professor West (Dave) is really careful in his lectures to be clear and specific. He's also always willing to answer questions. There are many little assignments in the class, but they are a nice variety so it isn't too bad. It's not a difficult class, but you will learn things and it's fairly enjoyable. Getting up at 8AM isn't easy, but he knows that and will do his best to keep you somewhat engaged in the material. It's a friendly atmosphere, easy-going and worth while.
  3. take this class. i took it to satisfy the science requirement...now i want to major in geology. i wish all professors at midd were as easy going and understanding as Dave. tests are straightfoward, but some questions can be a bit tricky. overall, my favorite class yet. by far.
  4. This class is a gem. It's very interesting stuff and easy to do well if you put in just a little effort. Professor West is laid back, but clearly passionate about rocks. He's very cool.
