Evaluation Comments for Andres G

  1. The class in itself is really interesting and Andres is really nice. His lectures are sometimes boring but he tries to make them as interesting as possible. His tests are very hard, especially the multiple choice.
  2. I liked the material, but the format of examination and presentation is just horrendous. The only way to get a respectable grade on his 3 exams is to study constantly, read the stuff more than once, go to all the lectures and stay awake the whole time (which at 9am can be tough in a dark room), and memorize 90+ paintings, sculptures, buildings, etc for each exam plus a ton of info about EACH ONE. As I said, the material is great, the professor is a cool guy, and the papers are worthwhile- I just hated the exams. 90% of the class were wither known study-nerds who dont get out much or people that never come to class. This person also suggested: Fix the exam format. Not all of us have the memorization power of Rain Man.
  3. This survey course really opened my eyes to the many facets of art. I had never taken art history before, and after taking this class, I am now leaning towards a major in that field.
