Evaluation Comments for Choi S

  1. This class definitely takes over your life during the semester if Sunhee is the one teaching it. Expect long hours spent in lab and truly endless rewrites. However, that being said the rewards of your hard work at the end of the semester are a vastly improved understanding of how to conduct research and huge improvements on your writing style. Honestly while this course definitely could have been taught in less of a life/soul crushing manner I think the payoff of it was worth it.
  2. Sunhee might not always know what she wants, but her excellence guidance is well worth it. The lab work wasn't too intense, but the report-writing could get quite stressful. Also, Sunhee checks your lab notebook and wants it to be VERY organized. Overall, this was a pretty relaxed class.
  3. Sunhee is an enigma. You can never tell what she wants in her assignments although everytime you approach her for help, she berates you and says that she made it 100% clear what was expected in the assignment. The rewrite is also an illusion. Don't expect your grade to change after rewrites no matter how much better you make it. The course is very little work on the surface, but make sure the reports are well written the first time (which is based on her mood that day).
  4. Professor Choi is very enthusiastic and knowledgeable about what she is teaching, but when it comes to doing work for her, it becomes a mess. She often changes her mind about what she wants at whim or after an assignment is handed in. Make sure you cover all your bases or you will get burned (actually, you might get burned either way). Otherwise a great professor. Just watch your back.
