Evaluation Comments for Ladimer B

  1. The theme and material of the class are very interesting. That said, DON'T take this class with Professor Ladimer. Although she's really passionate about the class (sending out 20 emails every week with attachments, photocopying random texts, images, etc that may help this course, etc., she is so disorganized that it's very difficult to stay focused in the class. I got a lot out of the readings (the books assigned are great), and not much more. Definitely take this class, but with someone else. She is a sweetheart, though.
  2. While the aim of the course is well-intentioned--to learn about France before you actually go there--I could barely stay awake through class. Some of the material was interesting; however, the discussions were boring if they existed, and Prof. Ladimer did hardly anything to spruce up the deadened class atmosphere. I'd take this class because it's an easy way to fulfill that SA requirement, but I'd avoid it otherwise.
