Evaluation Comments for Choi S

  1. Quantum chemistry might seem impossible to understand, but Sunhee does an excellent job bringing the complicated material down to the student's level. Sunhee won't stop until she feels that you fully understand the material, which is always a good thing. She lets you correct your homework for credit and your exams too. Also, class collaboration is strongly encouraged. Quantum with Sunhee is a really great experience.
  2. A rather difficult course. To truely succeed in this course and to understand the material fully, you will need a very strong background in mathematics and preferably physics as well. Ideally, you should have had multi-variable calc and intro to quantum physic before taking this. I did it without either and it destroyed me. However, in the process of being destroyed, I learned a great deal. Quantum is is very fundamental and many of the concepts are useful. But the full treatment of quantum as a semester course is overkill unless you plan to enter research related to this field. It's far less commonly seen in any other field of chemistry compared to thermodynamic and kinetics, which are its counter-parts in p-chem.
  3. Prof. Choi does an amazing job of taking the daunting field of Quantum and making it enjoyable and fun.
