  3. Professor Gould is a great person, but I strongly disliked her teaching style. She was extremely unorganized, unclear on assignments, and a horrible lecturer. We had reading assignments, and class consisted of talking about those assignments, but we rarely learned anything about the religion we were discussing other than what we read, which was always a pretty narrow description. Her assignments were meant to be "different," but it usually meant that it would require an entire 50 minute class time for us to understand the assignment. Overall, I would not suggest this class with Professor Gould, but the material itself was moderately interesting so I think this class with anyone else would be ok.
  4. She focused on the Puritans the ENTIRE time so if that's your thing, then look into this class... The readings were extrememly boring and time consuming, the discussion was awful, and she was not very interesting. She was the sort of professor to keep a tally of people's comments so it felt like people spoke for the sake of speaking. The midterm in this class was also wretched. It was definitely my worst class of the semester. I would not recommend it on any level.
