Evaluation Comments for Mendoza, M.

  1. not much to say that previous commenters haven't already said -- great class, cool prof.
  2. If I could recommend only one class at Middlebury and only one professor, it would be this class and Professor Mendoza.
  3. Mendoza did a good job making this class interesting and fun, but there was a lot of reading some weeks.
  4. Great class!!
  5. This class allowed me to take an entirely new perspective not only on a region of the U.S. but also on U.S. history overall. For that reason, the freshness of the information, readings were really enjoyable (although on the heavy side for a 200 level class). Mendoza is a great professor - very type A at times and very laid back at others which results in a nice conversational, honest atmosphere in the classroom on most days. Her lectures aren't the kind where you race to catch up with your notes, or where you zone out in the back - much more engaging and open to the directions students' questions or comments may take it in. She is always around for extra help or extra discussion and encourages you to come talk to her or email her about anything you would like. Everyone I know who has taken this class would recommend it, and I would as well, 100%.
