  1. Listen to the music beforehand!!!! Memorizing all the pieces the night before the test is *very hard*. Also, the prereqs to the class aren't just there as a formality; you should know your (music) stuff before you take this class.
  2. Take this class with professor Hamberlin - he's a great lecturer, passionate and approachable.
  3. Terrific Class. Interest in the subject and a background in music are enormously helpful.
