Evaluation Comments for Skubikowski, K

  1. Skubs is a fantastic professor and her class is phenomenal!
  2. No Comment
  3. I'm really glad I took this seminar. I really enjoyed it. The workload included writing for 30 minutes 5 times week and posting them on the Internet. We also had to periodically read essays. Discussing them in class was the most boring part of the course as we basically just said what we liked and didn?t like about them. The focus of the class was writing and workshopping five essays. After taking this class, I feel like my writing has improved. The environment was also really friendly and relaxed. Skubs knows how to write and is very respectful to the author?s voice and style. While other people complained about their seminar, I could honestly say mine was great.
  4. This class is great if you love writing. We were given the freedom to write what we wanted to write, which was great. Everyone put a lot of work into their pieces, and everyone collaborated to comment on each other's pieces. By the end, I was really invested in my pieces and inspired to continue writing beyond the class.
  5. Professor Skubikowski is a pretty good professor. The class was definitely more interesting at some parts than at others, and some of the readings were more interesting than others, but the workload was never too intense and Skubikowski was pretty good at making clear what she expected from us in terms of the essays and the postings. Overall, it was a good class and I'm glad I took it.
  6. The reading is interesting, but discussions can get repetitive. Particular interest in the reading and authors is necessary to fully enjoying the class.
