Evaluation Comments for Ratcliff S

  1. Awesome class- learned a lot about the history of mountaineering and rock climbing, Ratcliff is funny and engaging. Compared to other FYSE's, very relaxed and with mostly student-led discussions. Take it!
  2. Professor Ratcliff is extremely funny and is really into the material and enjoys presenting it. All of the students really wanted to be there and everyone always participated in the discussions
  3. Compared to a lot of other FYSE classes this one was great. Really friendly atmosphere, and not a ton of work. There are a lot of readings, but really it's all about mountain climbing so it's not that deep or difficult to understand. Ratcliff is very funny and usually available if you need help but don't expect him to hold your hand and walk you through the course. Definitely one of the better FYSE classes from what I've heard.
