Evaluation Comments for Smith, E

  1. this was a super chill class. it's unfortunate that he isn't come back. the class definitely aided in my exploration of a voice for my writing. the criticisms were harsh but constructive. probably more than any other class you get to know the other students. more of an experience than a class. ed can be tough, but he only wants you to do your best.
  2. Ed is the best teacher I have had at Middlebury. In class we workshop various classmates works. We talk about what works and what does not work. While Ed and the class can be harsh, Ed structures discussions in a way that focuses on things done well and things done poorly. Through the process of critiquing others works, I became a better writer. I also became close with several classmates.
