Evaluation Comments for Shaw C

  1. Great writing improvement! While Shaw starts out tough and a bit intimidating, he offers all of the tools necessary to become a better writer. The workshops truly push your comfort zone, while the inspiration and support of the rest of the class creates a close, friendly environment.
  2. Although most of the males in our class liked Shaw, many of the female members of the class were in disagreement. While he is obviously a good writer, and a generally interesting (although arrogant) person, he just isn't a great teacher. Besides the several times we workshopped each other's work in class, I can't remember what we did in class. The readings were OK, and the material in general was OK, but none of that really connected in class. Shaw was also sometimes unclear on when assignments were due or exactly what these assignments were.
