Evaluation Comments for Jacobs T

  1. Very interesting material, but be ready to read for hours on end, often about repetitive subjects. I took 0367 in the fall and I think that he is an easier grader in that class. It is a hard history class in the sense that there are not yet widely accepted theories or "takes" on the events because everything is still so recent. You have to analyze on your own and synthesize many different opinions instead of simply rehashing what earlier historians have said.
  2. Be prepared for lots of reading.
  3. Jacobs is a cool guy. Definitely take this class. It's not an easy A, but I feel like most people have never learned about this time period in high school. It's really interesting material, and you see video clips in class. Readings are really comprehensive, and there's a lot of them, but it's well worth it. Definitely would recommend the class.
  4. great prof, lots of reading, but well worth it
  5. An extremely interesting class. Jacobs does a great job with the lecture, incorporating videos that really emphasize the material. There's a bit of reading, but most of it is pretty interesting (except the book on Vietnam war negotiations) The midterm and exam are straightforward, and discussions with Jacobs were easy to follow andinteresting.
  6. This is a great course, Jacobs is the man, and he loves what he teaches, and cares about each one of his students and knows everyone's name. He uses film in his lectures well to go along with his lectures, which he reads, but remains engaging. TAKE THIS CLASS. The course is great and the Professor is as well.
