Evaluation Comments for Millier B

  1. Millier is a wonderful professor. American Literature is her absolute forté. She understands the course material profoundly, and offers unique perspectives on topics of debate/interest. Her lecture style relies heavily on author biography, historical context and ideological connections between relevant works. She can discuss poetry like nobody's business. If you're looking for a precise, narrow reading of a novel, poem or essay, you won't find it with Millier--at least in lecture. Instead, you get the broad picture of its ideas, which is a refreshing shift from the style of many ENAM professors here. If you plan on majoring in English, you would cheat yourself by graduating without a Millier course under your belt.
