Evaluation Comments for Millier B

  1. good class
  2. Only take this class if you are very serious about english literature. DO NOT take it if you are just trying to fulfill a requirement. Professor Millier is a good teacher but her classes are fast paced and you basically have to read a novel every week. If you are a slow reader, you will be spending hours and hours reading huge novels. She also makes everyone write discussion papers to bring to class on Fridays, so it is hard to fall behind without it being noticeable to her, whether or not you are an active participator in discussion. This class was the most stressful class I have taken thus far at Middlebury, and again, I would only take it if you are going to major or minor in ENAM.
  3. Millier is an AMAZING lecturer! The high point of the class was definitely listening to her speak passionately about the books we read. She adds so much history, knowledge, context, etc. to Postmodern Am. lit. I am an ENAM major, and I loved this class; yet, I still recommend it to anyone. WARNING, though, there is a lot of reading & Millier is known to be a tough paper grader (and I agree). On the whole, it's a great!!
