Evaluation Comments for Romagnoli

  1. This was a generally enjoyable course, and Richard is a friendly guy with a good disposition. However, at times he seemed a little bored with the material, and I've heard that Cheryl is more pedagogical in her approach. Either way, if you are actually interested in directing make sure you get everything you can out of this course because it's easy to coast through without learning much. If you work hard on the assignments, allowing yourself enough time and applying what you learn from the textbook, you will learn all the basics of directing.
  2. Literally my favorite class at Middlebury. Richard is great, so much of a character, but what really makes the class is the people you take it with.
  3. I love Richard. He is such an experienced director and is always very constructive with his criticism. He takes a lot of time outside of class to help with scenes and was always very flexible with meeting times. Overall, this class is really interesting and fun if you've got good classmates.
  4. Great professor, really fun class.
