  9. Great class. Readings can be overwhelming at times but it is a history class so get used to it. Prof Morse is an excellent lecturer
  10. Concepts are not earth shattering, but it was a good class to solidify understanding how we got to this environmental crisis
  11. Professor Morse is an amazing teacher who really cares about the students and getting the material across. She is a very personable lecturer and always makes them interesting. I love the discussions in this class because they always moved along smoothly and Professor Morse let us talk about anything. The readings can get long, but Morse actually encouraged us to skim through some of the texts. She can be a tough grader on essays, but she is reasonable. She is very good about being available to students and is very useful during office hours. She isn't my advisor but helped me a lot when I was deciding my major and what I needed to do. There's some overlap between this course and ENVS 211 (Conservation and Environmental Policy), which was pretty cool.
  12. Professor Morse is great. She is a good lecturer and very knowledgeable. The readings/books were interesting and class topics were fascinating, although apparently both are a little different every time she teaches it. Good class, good professor.
  13. Professor Morse gives excellent lectures. Her material is very interesting but the readings can be rather long.
  14. By far the best environmental history course I have taken. Morse does a comprehensive and engaging job of including discussions of race, class, gender, and justice thoroughly into the material. I would recommend this as a fundamental course for all ES majors
  15. Morse is a tough grader on essays, but really pushes you to further yourself as a writer in the CW section of this class. The lectures are all right, all though the open ended discussion questions on thursdays can be a bit too open ended. It's interesting material, and good to know-- Morse does a very coherent job of bringing together topics from colonists to modern day environmentalism in a coherent manner.
  16. Some readings were too long, but the lectures and discussions were great. Always wanted to go to class! Prof Morse is very knowledgeable and approachable.
  17. good class. better professor. morse was a good lecturer and facilitator in discussions. readings were interesting for the most part you don't need to be an ES major to take the class
  18. Take this course.
  19. This is a great class with a first rate professor. The readings are interesting, the lectures entertaining, and the discussions lively (despite being at 8 in the morning). I would recommend any class with Professor Morse...she's great.
  20. Good course. The work was not too bad, and the reading was interesting.
