  4. This is a great course.
  5. Here's the thing about Berg: he is super smart, but it gets in the way. In this small discussion class, he talked too much. What made this class amazing was the literature we were reading...Berg sometimes hindered that, but I don't even think he realized it. This class was a lot of work and the papers were intense. His grading was a little harsh (but not as bad as he said it would be) and his handwriting is terrible. Make sure to ask him to explain what he wrote if he didn't type your comments. I met with him about every paper and it was helpful because he always made time for us and we could bounce our ideas off of him directly. He was available to answer questions I had about his specialty, Shakespeare, during a semester where I wasn't even in his class. A good professor, but not the best...maybe he needs to be at Midd a bit longer to get the hang of it.
  6. Prof Berg is almost too smart to be a teacher. You learn a lot from his lectures but he is a tough grader and not great at explaining his grades.
  7. Take this course if you like a challenge, and if you REALLY want to learn. It's fabulous.
  8. Berg is the man. He is a really funny guy who is passionate about what he teaches and definitly taught me how to read in a better way. Although Berg's style of bringing in primary and secondary sources may at first seem arduous, they help you appreciate the text and find things before unseen.
  9. Berg is a nice guy but this class drags on and you feel like you're missing out on the magic that everyone else is talking about for this class. It's impossible to understand his grading tecnique - He's also really cryptic when you ask him for help about your papers
  10. Take this course! It's fun, great community, great discussion. He does Spenser. I never thought I'd like, it, but now I want to read the whole Faerie Queene.
