  1. Valuable class overall.
  2. although her discussion and lab instructions are not always easy to comprehend right away, it turned out to be highly worthwhile to take a class with Professor Kim. She was also available for help all the time when we needed and is a nice professor in general
  3. Young Hie Kim is truly one of the best professors I've had - I nearly cried when I found out 104 is pretty much the only lab class she teaches. I'd take any class she taught just to have her again! She's patient and kind, has her own subtle little brand of humor, and is patient and clear in explaining concepts (minus the accent). Although she teaches just basic chem she makes the labs fun and pleasant and she really is brilliant. Love this lady to death!
  4. Young Hie is awesome! Although she is sometimes difficult to hear in class, she definitely knows her stuff, so ask questions whenever you are unsure of something. Chem 104 lab is more intensive then 103, so make sure you always come into lab well rested and well prepared. Lab reports are not too difficult, but again, ask questions whenever you are not sure of something.
  5. Young Hie Kim is not only the best lab instructor, but best professor I've had at Middlebury College. She may come off strict at first and, because of the language barrier, a bit hard to understand. Once you get to know Young Hie, though, you will see that she is a very sweet, brilliant, funny woman who is always willing to help students. I would go to her office hours multiple times each week to ask for help with my lab report or to just have her explain the main concept of the experiment. She never grows tired of helping students, no matter how simple a question you ask her. Young Hie Kim is a hidden gem of Middlebury College, and I only wish I could take more classes with her.
  6. The first time you meet prof. kim you are going to be like "oh crap, she doesnt speak english, I am screwed." But by the second lab session you will find out that she absolutely knows her stuff, and even though it takes a second to get your point across to her because her english is weak, she is ALWAYS helpful. She also granted me an extension when I needed one and helped me with a couple reports when I got stuck. She is an amazing lab teacher. So helpful and nice.
  7. Don't panic the first time you meet Dr. Kim. It gets much easier to understand her accent. She is actually extremely nice and helpful. I recommend meeting with her before labs are due. She will go over any questions you have and help you to arrive at the right answer. Dr. Kim turned out to be a great lab teacher and very helpful. Get to know her, she's awesome!
