  3. Bejar is a great professor. He usually picks on one or two people in each class, so as long as you aren't that person, you're fine. Don't use a Spanish accent! Use a Latin American one. Bejar is Cuban and really doesn't like people using the lisp in class. He's crazy smart and very helpful. If you're serious about Spanish he'll respect you and help you out. Tests are really fair...memorize things! They'll show up. He is really good about explaining things and will speak about grammar in English to make sure that you get it. He's funny too, and he has no qualms about saying what he doesn't like, even if it has to do with his own class syllabus. I learned a lot from Bejar.
  4. Bejar is lovely! So much fun!
  5. It's a solid grammar class without a ridiculous amount of work. If you're going to take 210, take it with Bejar. I've heard other professors come up with ridiculous or irrelevant assignments that take forever and don't teach you much. Bejar wouldn't play you like that.
  6. Bejar is a funny, smart, and caring professor. Classes were always entertaining and he was always making jokes. A lot of the material is review from high school so if you know some spanish id recommend just skipping into 220. Overall the class is laid back, barely any homework assignments and Bejar was always available to talk in his office if you had a problem. Great guy.
  7. Bejar runs a smooth, heavily grammar orientated class. The work load is not overwhelming-- and it builds a solid spanish foundation
  8. Though I think the spanish dept here as a whole is lacking I did enjoy Bejar's class. A lot of it is just grammar review and things you probably learned sophomore year of high school. He's really funny and engaging and always available to talk about any problems you may have. His enthusiasm made the class fun even though some of the material was pretty basic. We spent the entire semester reading one novel so it was pretty low on workload. He's not a super tough grader or anything and I hear he;s one of the better teachers in the spanish department. OH, but he takes missing class really seriously, so don't do that.
