Evaluation Comments for Woolson

  1. Woolson is a bit spacey and takes forever to return graded assignments, but the class is fairly easy and mostly review. You can get away without doing any of the homework and still get a good grade. Woolson seems a b.it sassy in class, but one on one she is really nice and helpful, so definitely go to office hours
  2. LOVE WOOLSON. She is great. She is welcoming and always wants to help you. She not only wants to help you in Spanish, but she wants to hep you in whatever problems you have. She will always find time to meet with you; she came in on a Saturday to meet with me! Make sure you do all of the work, you will get really good at spanish. Second life can be quite funny but I liked it. With sports, it can be a lot of work sometimes, but it is no more than any other course. It is very interesting and you should take it. She is so nice and wants you to do well and love spanish.
  3. Boring class, friendly professor. If only the 200 level spanish classes were remotely interesting.
  4. You have to take this class to get into 220...otherwise I would hav dropped out in the first week. Coursework is boring through no fault of Woolson. But she gives a lot of stupid, mindless work. She also grades her exams fairly strictly. I would try and take this class with a more fun teacher since either way you're going to learn very little
  5. Professor Woolson is good...in moderation. I got a bit tired of her after a few weeks, and she eventually turned me off of Spanish.
  6. She's friendly and cares about teaching. Downsides: a lot of tedious work, not much time spent on any one subject (fine if it's review, but difficult if it's a new concept)
  7. lame
  8. well, first of all, the spanish placement tests are ridiculous. this class was entirely review for me, and no matter how hard i tried to get out of it, i either had to take it or drop it, and im not about to waste my 40thou by taking 3 classes. the class was boring, the assignments were boring, i didnt have to do anywork, study for any test, and still i got a solid A on every single one. professor woolson is very nice, she will answer any of your questions, but she uses power point presentations to give out all her info, and doesnt want you to take notes, she wants you to look at them later online. personally, i dont learn in class if im not engaged in the lesson. id rather be expected to take notes in class and learn it then, then just sit there bored, knowing i can always just look at it later to learn it. it makes class a waste of time.
  9. This class was really boring, but you have to take it to get through the language requirement. Woolson is an average teacher, but the class is largely unstructured. We skipped around from grammar to literature to excercises to conversation within a 50 minute class period. It was easy though, even if your Spanish skills are minimal. Definitely do all of the work though because it's easy and it definitely increases your grade. Overall, it's not a bad class, just boring.
  10. This class was a bit slow at times simply because it was mainly grammar review, but Woolson as a professor is excellent! Very engaging friendly, personable. I liked her so much and I felt so comfortable in class that I wanted to have her again for Int. Span. II. I highly recommend Woolson, however while this class is fun, it is mostly review.
