  2. Jimena is a good professor. She applies the right amount of rigor, consolidating our skills to a point where we could be confident about everything we've learned up to 220. The book Soldados de Salamina isn't very good, in my opinion. And we talked about it most classes. She is fair and friendly.
  3. Jimena is very nice and clearly wants everyone to succeed. The class was somewhat boring, but I liked the book quite a bit. If you're contemplating this course you probably want to study abroad or fulfill your language requirement. She seems like one of the better teachers for 220.
  4. Jimena was very friendly and the class atmosphere was really relaxed. Material was boring at times but this class helped me feel more confident discussing in spanish.
  5. The grammar learned was nothing new, but it was also the kind of subtle, picky stuff that you sometimes need to learn more than once in order for it to stick in your head. The workload in this class was pretty minimal, and the book was good and really helps your reading comprehension. Class only rarely left the textbook/novel track, but I still really enjoyed Ugaz as a teacher... She is easy to understand and has a good sense of humor and I would love to take a class with her that isn't focused on grammar.
  6. I found this to be another boring grammar course filled with power points about new grammatical aspects. We used the textbook lots, and relied solely on the textbook and novel for class activities - there was never any variation, and very little discussion.
  7. excellent professor. fascinating material. tough grader, but its all worth it.
