  3. this class is a historian's history course....i took it hoping for a focus on cultural trends and events that shaped modern europe. what i got was detailed discriptions of the decrees in the council of nicea, pope leo IX, and 50 page readings of medieval price lists, or the town charter of ipswich in 1349. Professor Kumhera is the sweetest and nicest man, and for someone who finds objective historical fact and hours of primary source reading as interesting as he does, this class could be engaging and informative.
