  2. Eliza Garrison walks in to your first day of class talking like a 19 year old valley girl. While she may prsent herself in this youthful and vibrant way, her lectures, unfortunately, do not follow the same pattern. The visual materials presented are incredibly fascinating anf beautiful- from medieval sculture, architecture, illuminated manuscripts and cathedrals--but the historal elements that garrison presents in lecture pass through deaf ears. The best parts of class were when she would put up an image and invite class discussion of it. She LOVES people who participate. Beware: this class has 3 papers- 2 small ones and 1 final research paper which took probably 60 hours to complete. This class seems easy until crunch time so make sure to carve out time for the final paper. Otherwise, this is a good building block class if you're going to be a HARC major.
  3. This class made me want to be an art history major. Not only is Eliza amazing - she's friendly and helpful - but the material really is beautiful and fascinating. It's a great class since so few people appreciate medieval art and this teaches you to not only see it's beauty but to understand a culture so looked down upon
