Evaluation Comments for Edleson D

  1. Should David ever teach this class again, I highly recommend it. He's an excellent and personable teacher - and he'll wrangle you either WAGS or Religion credit for his course based on your needs. The material is fascinating, and entirely different from other offerings in the Religion department. The workload is fairly manageable aside from the readings, which are massive but can be skimmed whenever necessary; there's a good chance that any crucial concepts will be discussed in class long before the final.
  2. One of the zaniest courses at Midd, taught by one of my favorite professors in the world. David has just left Midd, but if he ever comes back around, take the damn class already! No other school (to my knowledge) offers anything like this. Lots of reading, but it's fascinating and usually not too tough. Lectures are flat-out FUN; the material is an intriguing mixture of religious theory, sociology, and gender studies. Despite his busy schedule as a Commons Dean, David was also far and away the most supportive professor I've had and loved working one-on-one with students.
