  1. I love Rochford, but this class kind of kicked my ass, not gonna lie. Interesting stuff, but it's super reading-heavy and the man grades pretty seriously.
  2. This is a great class! Burke is a really engaging lecturer and I felt that I learned a lot. His grading is very fair, although it would be nice if there were a few more assignments since there were only 3 assignments turned in that were each worth 30% of your grade. Take this class if you can. It is not a huge time commitment and the material is fascinating.

  4. Burke is fantastic! I learned so much in this class. The readings were pretty interesting, but they can be skimmed. He tries really hard to get the class engaged. AMAZING! He's like an adorable little Santa Claus. Also, meeting with him about papers is super helpful as he can be very specific about what he wants. But if you have the opportunity, take this class!
  5. This is a very interesting class that chronicles different religious movements in America (Native American religion, Protestant religions, immigrant religions, Evangelicals, etc.) and also discusses how these movements intersect with the historical & social context. I had never taken a religion class before and had no trouble with this class at all; it's a great place to start. Rochford is really awesome!! He's really friendly, appreciates comments, and is happy to meet with you outside class to discuss papers or exams. Skimming the reading was usually sufficient because Rochford highlights the main points in class. Really great class and awesome professor!!
