Evaluation Comments for Nunley, C.

  1. You sould definetly take this course! M. Nunley is very animated and makes the class really fun.
  2. Nunley is the absolute best. He makes reading the literature interesting because of the personality and humor that he brings to the discussions. I would definitely take this class with him if you can. The material isn't the best, but it's a helpful course for writing in a French style, and for reading a good amount of literature. Seriously, though, Nunley is the greatest.
  3. Nunley is a great guy and a great professor. Whatever you read, no matter how you feel about it, will be enlightened by Nunley's ardor for the subject. I think he lives his life with the progress of the reading because he is so swept up in it. The class is kinda front-heavy, so don't let the first couple of weeks scare you off - the whole thing isn't Balzac.
  4. Nunley's very friendly and certainly willing to talk with you about the class at any time, which is great. However, discussions are not discussions, but rather Nunley telling the class information, and us answering his questions "correctly". Also, in his papers, all he wants is for you to spit back any analysis he has already given you, with no original thought. This class drove me crazy and I do not recommend it.
  5. Passionate professor. Prof. Nunley keeps discussion rolling when students become silent to avoid those awkward early AM lectures when everyone still pretty tired. The poetry is great, Balzac is not, and the final few works get much more interesting. Reading exercises each week, one mid-term exam, final = paper, a few poem recitations from memory, and an analytical presentation on a poetic work.
  6. M. Nunley is just awesome. He's so passionate and nice... I personally wasn't wild about the first few books we read but take this class. Nunley makes it worth it.
