  2. This class made me a better writer and person. Not only will you gain more confidence in your own writing, you will meet very interesting and talented writers in the class. The topics of discussions are always relevant because they are about life. I really loved this class and wish that I could take it again.
  3. I LOVE THIS CLASS. Take it. I got so close to my classmates over the semester, and I am really sad its over. Mrs. B. is amazing. I love her. Not only does she know her stuff but she is 100% understanding. I experienced a loss while I was in this class and it really was the only place I felt I could be sad. As for the workload, there is a lot of really interesting reading. You write 5 papers and do one final project. Multiple drafts are required of each paper. You meet with a peer writing tutor assigned to the course as well as Mrs. B about every paper, so the final product is something you will be proud of. Also, Mack Roark, our tec specialist and Joy Pile, our librarian are awesome. It would really be a shame to go through Midd without meeting them.
  4. TAKE THIS CLASS! This is the best class that I've taken at Middlebury so far. You get to know so many great people, the material is interesting, and the atmosphere is really laid back. Professor Bertolini is great, she gives you individual help for every paper, and you get three chances to edit your papers before you are graded. There is a good amount of work, but it is interesting so I didn't mind doing it. Also, my writing improved a lot, and I thought that I was a good writer to begin with.
  5. This is an amazing class - especially if you come into it looking for any sort of emotional healing. Mrs. B is an incredible writing teacher and cares so much about each person's progress. For each paper, you turn in three drafts and aren't graded until the third one, so there is lots of opportunity for improvement. Most importantly, this class made me realize how cathartic and important writing is to one's health.
  6. I absolutely loved this class! It's amazing how close you get to your fellow classmates and to Prof. B at the end of this course. Prof. B is quite jovial and full of energy, always ready to help you in anything - academics or life! She?s more like a ?cool mom.? There are online discussions twice a week. They are easy to get through coz you're given full marks for just participating. The readings were mostly interesting, and you can manage by skimming. There are a total of 5 papers (no exams), and the best part is that you get to write 2 drafts each and get as much help as needed before submitting the 3rd and final draft to be graded. The material is really interesting and the class is a lot of fun. You learn a lot about yourself and your classmates, and at the end of it, the class leaves you feeling good about yourself ? after all it is ?writing to heal?. I'd recommend this course to anyone, anytime! Take it!!!!! It's worth it!!!
