Evaluation Comments for Spatafora, G

  1. Dr. S is a great teacher. This course covers some fascinating material that is the closest thing Middlebury offers to what one might find in a medical school course. In addition, there are two homework assignments where the student is asked to come up with a diagnosis and explanation of a disease based on a history and blood workups of a hypothetical patient (how cool). Her tests are killer, but she curves and lets you drop one which is very helpful. I would say this is the best course I've taken at Midd but it was very hard. Don't take it unless you're pre med or fascinated with cell biology.
  2. Dr. Spatafora taught us a lot of material in a short period of time (J term class). Class consisted of powerpoint lectures, two hw assignments, a trip to UVM, and a big final oral presentation. Her tests were extremely hard, so don't expect to get a solid grade without a lot of memorization. I would recommend taking this class if you're a premed and someone who's interested in learning about the intricacies of our innate and adaptive immune responses.
