  1. This was a really awesome First-Year Seminar... Prof. Du is very passionate about the subject, and she teaches with so much enthusiasm that it's hard not to find the stuff interesting. As someone who took the class without knowing a thing about linguistics, this class definitely taught me a lot. The class discussions were always interesting and the workload was not bad at all. We had video screenings every week, and while those were sometimes a bit of an inconvenience, the videos were usually pretty fascinating. Definitely a worthwhile class!
