Evaluation Comments for Sheldon / Backus

  1. No Comment
  2. This is a good course for science students. We spent all of our time on experiments and writing them up. I feel like I am well prepared for other lab science courses. But the only writing we did was lab reports.
  3. Basically, all you learn in this class is how to design a scientific experiment and how to write a lab report. There is not a lot of work for this class, but it is kind of tough interpreting Prof Sheldon's suggestions for writing the report. Would recommend choosing another FYS.
  4. Grading was random. Prepare yourself for anything.
  5. The course is good for science majors since the writing component is based on lab reports, it doesn't help at all though with regualr essays. The labs were usually fairly interesting and we were allowed to design them ourselves. Overall the class was fairly interesting
