  2. good course
  3. One of the most fascinating classes I have ever taken. Andrea is amazing, and the class is very useful in understanding why we are the way we are. Take it and you will not regret it.
  4. This course was lots of fun. Andrea's awesome, and she tries her best to make you feel as comfortable as possible in the course. The good thing about this course is that the dance moves were slow and not that difficult. She's really into moving your body in relation to the earth, so there's quite a bit of crawling on the ground. Even if you feel uncomfortable hearing this, when you get there, it really won't be a big deal because everyone else is doing it. The three 3 page papers were okay, two of them consisted of you watching a dance and writing a review on them. The anatomy test covered a lot, so definitely start memorizing early on and don't wait till the last minute. There is a 3 min dance solo at the end, might seem a lot reading it right now, but trust me, when you move your body around for 50 minutes straight in class, 3 minutes is a joke.
  5. Andrea is amazing! its a completely different approach to learning than what I was used to but it was alot of fun! there are some outside time commitments but it's definately worth it. Intro to Dance is so much fun!
  6. Its a great course.Go for it and you`ll have FUN!
  7. BEST PROFESSOR EVER. With a first semester with three mediocre professors I could not have been happier with this class. Andrea has a way about her that makes the class incredible in every way. If there is one class to take a midd, I would suggest taking this class and I know multiple people that I have convinced to take this class next semester. It is some work towards the end of the semester especially: 4 essays, coloring, anatomy quiz and final dance (which sounds terrifying but by the end will not be an issue). I recommend this class if you need a relaxing class in a hectic semester, if you want to learn more about dance or anatomy in a new format, or for anyone. Andrea is one of those people who changes your view on life.
  8. This class has more work than I expected from a dance class
  9. Andrea Olsen is a wonderful teacher and this course is a great introduction to dance for students who have never taken a dance class before, or a great refresher for students who have a background in dance. The class teaches students not only technique, but also history of modern dance, how their anatomy affects their dance, and encourages students to produce their own choreography. By the end of the course every single student not only was able to improvise dance for an entire hour, as we did in class sometimes, but also created and performed an origional creative piece.
  10. Andrea is an energetic lady! The anatomy portions of class were great because you basically massage eachother. A little awkward at first but you learn to become a lot more comfortable with your body. You are required to attend a fair amount of performances outside of class and you have to write papers about these performances. That part wasn't very fun. There is a term paper as well. You also have to color a lot in an anatomy book- it's sort of tedious. In class you get to do a lot of silly and interesting stuff!
