Evaluation Comments for Teets, J.

  1. An interesting course with light group work... However, there were too many readings, and many of them were unnecessary. First time for Professor Teets and Abad to teach together. They definitely need more experience.
  2. The class material was very interesting -- and completely new to me. Professor Teets was not helpful or friendly, however. She was very willng to meet with students but was very cold during any interaction. Professor Arroyo-Abad co-taught this course and was very very friendly, however. I learned quite a bit in this class, but I agree with the above comment that grading was arbitrary and the assignments were not very well designed. I am certainly glad that I took this class, but it was much more difficult than it should have been.
  3. The course was a basic overview of development issues which was stilted and contrived. The professors forced us to answer questions that they were not willing to answer (i.e. choosing a specific development model, which later in the class she said is impossible). They were available for help, but their standards of evaluation remained unclear. Any opinion that was different from hers was immediately dismissed without explanation. There was almost no feedback on assignments and grading was completely arbitrary.
