  1. Berg is wonderfully passionate about Shakespeare; it is infectious.
  2. Berg can be a little scattered, and it's true that he doesn't direct the class as much as I would've hoped. Overall though, I learned a lot and you get out as much as you put in.

  6. Berg is a very hands off teacher, great guy, but not very involved in discussion / lecturing
  7. Class is very discussion-based. As a first-year seminar, I think it definitely gets that nasty business of how to write a college paper out of the way.
  8. Best course I've had at Middlebury. I loved coming every day. It wasn't easy, but it was SO much fun! Berg is terrific!
  9. I learned a ton about Shakespeare in this class--Berg provided a huge amount of information on the Shakespearean stage and then gave us the freedom to use it as we wanted. And it was SO much fun!!!
  10. Very boring class. Berg would talk in circles, never really teaching anything. It will be a frustrating class if you don't like english, and since we only read three shakepeare plays in great detail all three are now ruined for me. There are definitely better seminars out there.
  11. this class is very student run and so if you are looking for a class where your will be taught new ideas about shakespeare, this is not it. Berg is a very nice and encouraging professor, yet does not lecture at all.
