Evaluation Comments for Mittell, J.

  1. take it with Louisa Stein. Mittell is a hard grader.
  2. No Comment

  4. I would not recommend this course to a friend. It is almost impossible to complete the readings that Mittell assigns and he quizzes on the information assigned every week. I felt like i was in high school again with the quizzes he assigned, they did not stimulate my learning but merely motivated me to hate the subject. The screenings are painfully long and the seating in the class is very uncomfortable (it was in a theater room in Axin). We did watch some of my favorite programs from television but even that did not make the class better for me. I WOULD NOT recommend this class.
  5. I blew off all of the reading and still did fine. Interesting course with a great professor. Mittell does a good job on focusing the class on the controversies of television, especially when the debates begin.
  6. Take it. Mittell is one of the best teachers here. The course is highly relevant to anyone not living under a rock.
  7. He does not take mercy on athletes, let me tell you that
