Evaluation Comments for Speaks, A

  1. This class is seriously a joke!!! EXTREMELY EASY!!! two papers and one oral presentation...how can you beat that?
  2. Almeta Speaks leads a very relaxed classroom, which has given this course its easy reputation. Class is sometimes interrupted by impromptu concerts and extended stories, which were definitely the highlight of this class and the main reason to take it. However, an unfortunately high amount of the rest of class time devoted to half-assed student powerpoint presentations. Speaks was quite disorganized as well, but she made up for whatever conventional shortcomings with amazing musical talent, a good sense of humor, and a devotion to spreading the appreciation black music in all its forms. So I wouldn't take another class with this professor, but getting more of a familiarity with this subject and Almeta still was a treat.
