  1. I took this class as my senior essay. While I was abroad in the fall, I emailed Prof. Fitzsimmons about doing research abroad for my essay. He never returned my emails. I went ahead and did interviews with people. By the time I returned to Middlebury in the Spring I had written a rough draft of my essay (this is because I was taking 5 classes to be able to graduate on time). Prof. Fitzimmons informed me three weeks into the semester that I couldn't use the research I had done because I did not get IRB approval. Long story short... I had a very frustrating Senior Essay experience because of his lack of communication from the Professor in the fall.
