Evaluation Comments for Coish, R.

  1. This class is Ray's domain. He's an igneous petrologist by trade, and this class reflects his total mastery of the subject. The material can sometimes be hard to understand, but Ray is very accessible and willing to accommodate you and your needs. Petrology is definitely a class worth taking if you're a geology major, since is basically explains why igneous and metamorphic rocks are the way that they are, and the mechanisms for their creation. There's a weekly lab where you look at hand samples and thin sections of different rocks, and it helps you master your mineralogy and understand the mineralogical and morphological differences between different igneous and metamorphic rocks.
