Evaluation Comments for Bunt R

  1. The class itself is interesting, but on a very basic level. I didn't particularly gain any new perspective or innovation. However, this course pushed me to discover an area of literature and film that I would have never independently pursued.
  2. This class was decent. Rick is really nice, but I personally found the material presented somewhat lukewarm. Our discussion of philosophy was fascinating, but many of the books we read were not very well written. Definitely not a very literature-based course. We didn't do a lot of intense analysis of the works we read. However, it was a pleasant atmosphere. THe stories we wrote at the end were really fun and interesting. The only reason I wouldn't necessarily take another class with Rick is because I'm not going to take Chem. And I would recommend this class to somebody if they wanted a FYSE that wasn't going to push them much. I didn't think this did much for my writing, though, and I sort of wish I'd taken a seminar that might have actually taught me a little more about it. I think overall, most of the kids in the class actually really enjoyed it, I just was looking for something a little more literary than we got.
