Evaluation Comments for Hock J

  1. This class was very enjoyable! The material was light and interesting, especially if you have an interest in the history of housing/suburbs in America. Hock is very knowledgeable about the subject and is passionate about teaching it, although there were times when she could have jumped into our class discussion and lectured more (most of the classes were student-led). The reading assigned each week was generally light, and the workload was also light - each student was responsible for four 2-page response papers on a chosen class topic and leading discussion on those days, and a final 10-page paper on a topic of your choice (you could literally write on almost anything!) Overall the class was fun and relaxed, and I would definitely recommend it.
