Evaluation Comments for Rochford E

  1. Rochford is a great guy, but I definitely do not recommend this class. Classes dragged on and the papers were not enjoyable at all
  2. Really interesting, Burke is easy-going and fun. Class is well structured with theory followed by practical applications. One of the most interesting classes I've had at Midd.
  3. Don't do it.
  4. Favorite class yet. Fair grades, manageable workload, awesome professor, interesting material.
  5. Burke is the man and the class is super laid back. Only and midterm easy final paper and final..all were very easy. A great easy class that is very interesting and Burke makes the class enjoyable.
  6. I took this class to fill my religion requirement. Although religion doesn't interest me that much, Rochford made the material interesting. He is a really nice guy and really understanding. He's also a fan of athletics so when i had conflicts he was accomadating. the books are long, but he expalins them thoroughly in class. not a stressful class
  7. Burke is a great professor, he keeps the class engaged in a discussion instead of lecturing the whole time. That being said, don't take this class if you don't like participating. The grading was fair and there were only a couple writing assignments. There is a lot of reading though, and if you don't read then you'll definitely be lost during class.
  8. The disclaimer for this class is that you better be very interested in religion(s). If you are not, this class will flat out suck. I'm not discrediting Rochford by any means, he is a fun professor who loves to spread his knowledge on religion. However, there is a ton of reading to do. Only three grades in the class- one mid term, final paper, final. Both midterm and the final were two short-ish essays. You need to pay attention in class to do well, but as mentioned, if you find religion boring it will be very hard to do so.
  9. I really enjoyed this class. Professor Rochford was pretty laid-back and was clear with his expectations. I thought that the information was valuable and interesting, especially the second half of the class. Discussions, when they happened, were very valuable. The exams are take-home, open-book, open-note, and to some extent you can discuss them with others. There was also one research paper which I found very interesting.
