Evaluation Comments for Rochford E

  1. Obviously you should only take this course if you're a soc major, since it's basically prep for the thesis. But I would definitely recommend Rochford as the professor because he is a great guy, knowledgeable professor, and fair grader. He and the course will be tough on you, but you will be all the better for it when you're writing your thesis. There is reading and a big class research project in addition to outside research and writing that you will be doing for your thesis proposal. While this may seem to be an arduous task, you will thank yourself (if you do it well) when you're writing your thesis, because part of the work will be done already! Definitely take advantage of the prep work, and make sure you pick a topic that you'd like to use for your thesis. If not, you might be forced to write a senior essay, because you won't have the head start on research or interview/survey planning that is necessary to complete the more in-depth, lengthy one-semester (plus j-term) thesis. Please note: Rochford is the man.
