Evaluation Comments for West D

  1. Dave is the best! I took this my first semester. You go on a bunch of field trips to different rock outcroppings in the area - its a fun way to get off campus and get to see more of Vermont. This is a fairly easy/laid back class. Just lecture every day (which can be boring) but Dave does a good job of making the subject interesting.
  2. This class is a good time. Dave is the BEST and the stuff you cover in class is super interesting. I'd say if you looking for a fun and easy science credit and you like being outdoors, TAKE THIS! The lab write ups are quick, and the lab periods are the best, lots of outside fieldtrips and such. The tests are hard, but if you prepare they are fine.
  3. Dave is an awesome professor. Classes are very relaxed with discussions arising when a concept isn't clear. Each class is facilitated using powerpoint slides that he has somehow timed to perfectly coincide with when he is done talking and when you are done taking notes. Labs are tons of fun and easy. Most of the time, he wouldn't hand out the lab guidelines until you were actually on your way to the field location. The tests were very fair if you had gone to the lectures and just paid attention. This is a great course with a superb professor.
  4. Fun class, interesting labs, learned a lot without too much out of class work.
  5. This class is wonderful! Dave is awesome, and the material is very interesting. There is very little work, and if you need a science credit, this is the way to go! The lab reports are fun, and relatively easy.
  6. Class is very fun and interesting, you learn a lot in a low stress environment.
