Evaluation Comments for Veguez R

  1. Dude is nice but not a quality teacher. Did not learn much in the semester.
  2. I agree that Veguez picks favorites. Classes are completely identical on a day to day basis: view Spanish headlines, most likely a pop quiz on vocab/grammar, day's lesson, oral pracice. It is good for some solid general spanish grammar learning though.
  3. If you are considering taking this class because you want an easy A, dont. I know it sounds appealing to wait a semester to take 220, but it is not worth your time to take this course. It does not give you a language credit and your time would be better spent moving forward. Veguez is a nice guy but this course only goes up through subjunctive. Put in the extra effort and take 220! That said...if youve not learned subjunctive yet and really do need a refresher on basic grammar, this is the course for you.
  4. If you have a solid Spanish background, Spanish 210 is a waste of your time. Not only does the course not cover challenging material, but the review of basic grammar itself isn't even that good. Professor Veguez is friendly and helpful, for the most part, but he's not inspiring and tends to do a lot of activities straight from the textbook, which can get quite dull...I wish I'd just pushed myself to get to 220 instead of wasting a semester with 210.
  5. Vegeuz is an amazing, funny guy. Pop quizzes are tough if you don't keep up on the reading, but tests are straightforward and paper assignments provide great topics to write about.
  6. The professor definitely picked favorites. Don't take this class at 8:00 if at all possible. Learn vocabulary as it is assigned.
  7. Veguez is a good, though not great teacher from my perspective. Although some people really like him, I found class to be a bit on the boring side and I wish that we had done more speaking in the class. He is a fairly difficult grader of essays, but coursework in general is very fair.
